I would like to see better loan manager in the next version because I am studying accounts and then after I am willing to either pursue CA or work in financial firm so it would be great for me to learn something for the forum. I hope I am not to late for vote

Hmm, somehow I don't understand the connection

I would like to have one little thing in addition: Pick a random movie
This might seem a little useless but I think it would be great for all the ones who can not decide which movie to watch.
An integration into the search (random movie which fulfills the search requests) could be useful.

Network-ability ... once it has that I'll be buying it. (unless you can tell me how to make a list from a directory to import as opposed hand entering about 1000 movies)
I have a NAS on which I have my movie collection stored. While this program is the only I found one that can automatically add movies from a hard-drive, it can't do so via network.

Well, the new version works with NAS and other network devices :)

Post Scanning for relocated files
Hi Vlad,

I had a problem in that anytime I wanted to rearrange my movie files or entire directory structures (within my normal root), each individual movie's path would require editing - not good for 800 movies.

For example, if you had all movies in one single directory, and decide you want to reorganise into new subdirectories like A-C, D-F, G-J, etc, then how do you do it without spending the next month editing each movie???

So I wrote a simple PHP script that does the following:
- Opens a Movienizer SQLite 2.x database
- Scans the active root folders for files (any type)
- Creates and array of all file paths
- Loops through each file, searching the 3 relevant DB tables for matching filename.ext
- If filename.ext match found AND overall paths are DIFFERENT, then update the DB path</li>
- At end, displays statistics, with links at bottom for simulation mode and update mode - always start in simulation mode.

This type of maintenance functionality could fall under the "Manage" menu - trust me, people will love this feature. Or, if you have PHP up and running, then just run the script. Sorry about coding in PHP, but it was the easiest for me at the time. You (or someone else) can please improve on it and code it in Pascal.

Cheers,
Andy.

Thank you, agillbb. I believe that the script from JeF does something like that. Currently we are thinking about adding more tools to the program as plugins.

Hey, who knew!! Thanks in advance, and I shall try your scripts tonight.
Maybe I should do a bit more exploring before writing a darn PHP script next time... :D
Andy.

Jef, now that I've checked, I'm not seeing any script that does the "scan all files in select directories then update database accordingly" thang.
It's no prob though, the PHP script works fine :)
