How do I get Movienizer to list all my Foreign Films by original name instead of the English name ?

Let's assume a "foreign" movie is a movie with an original title not empty (different from main title).
Then :
- First, backup your database (always a good idea before mass update)
- go to options (F10), "Title sort" Tab
- check "Generate sorting titles using the Original title field
- hit {Fill out all sorting titles] (and confirm). Note: movies with no roiginal title will have their sort title populated from main title
- close options
- From menubar, select "Manage" > "Sort movie list by" > "Sort title"

You're done.
Movies with original titles will be sorted/inserted through movies with no original title

Could you then explain what exactly you're expecting with more details ?

Sure I expect this Image to say the foreign Swedish name of the movie instead of the English name sense it is a foreign film. Thanks.

I didn't find any option to set displayed title to original title in left pane (though title is received as parameter in GetThumbMovie2 function).
So, until (and if) this becomes a new setting (dev team decides), it can be achieved through script patching :

1) Open windows explorer and browse to movienizer scripts folder : in windows explorer adress bar, just type %appdata%\Movienizer\scripts and hit enter
2) locate this file : breeze_program.pas
3) open it using your favorite text editor (notepad or whatever)
4) search for the line begining with :
function GetThumbMovie2
5) then search for the 'begin' line few lines further (should be 11 lines)
6) under that 'begin' line, add the following lines:

Code: Select all

  //patch to replace title with original title in left pane
  s:='select original_title from movies'
     + format(' where code=%d', [code])
     + ' and original_title > '''' ';
  RecordCount:=ExecuteSQL(s);
  if RecordCount > 0
    then title:=GetStringField('original_title');
7) save file and close editor
8) run movienizer : should be done!

However, just keep in mind this is offcial script patching. So you'll have to this again after each new release install...

Note 1: For left pane covers wall mode (i've just realized this is the inital request :roll: ), redo same steps with "function GetThumbMovie3" on step 4 (in place of function GetThumbMovie2)
Note 2: For modern interface, same steps but editing file modern_program.pas in place of breeze_program.pas (step 2)
Note 3: the previous solution (sort title setting) is still to be applied to get correct sorting in left pane : the current patch is only for title display in left pane, not for sorting...

Nevermind for now I won't do this sense in Collection tab you can see Movie and Movie (original title)

Most likely better that way.
