Starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, The Devil Wears Prada is a fast paced and clever look into the fashion industry. Miranda Priestly, Meryl Streep's character is based on Ana Winters, the ruthless and awe-inspiring editor of Vogue. Streep's performance is, as always, fabulous and phenomenal (and I'm not talking about her 347 outfits). Anne Hathaway, who we haven't seen since The Princess Diaries plays Andy Sachs, a hopeful journalist taking on a sought-after assistant's assistant position with a high-end fashion magazine. Not unlike The Princess Diaries, Hathaway transforms from an ugly duckling into a smart and desirable fashionista while juggling this new carrier and her boyfriend (Adrien Grenier). Several secondary characters like Nigel (Stanley Tucci) and Emily (Emily Blunt) treat Hathaway with a helping of hilarious tough love. Although the dialogue is impressive, the film relies heavily on the electric acting of Stanley Tucci and Meryl Streep who were casted for this film after the initial screenings of Julie and Julia. 9/10
